There are few things more special than capturing photos of a baby when it is still new to this world. So, believe me when I saw that getting to work with these newborn twins was an absolute highlight!
Calm, cuddly and oh-so-cute, these two were a delight from the minute they arrived with their doting parents. Sleeping through most of the shoot, we were able to capture some perfect moments of them entwined, blissfully unaware of their captive audience. This age is perfect for posing and wrapping babies, there’s a small window of time before they find their limbs and just want to stretch themselves out. Thankfully mum and dad had this session booked in plenty of time, so the twins were naturally enjoying being bundled up. The bond these two shared was obvious, it’s as if one was an extension of the other. What a special gift to have a playmate to journey through life with. Importantly though, these two are individuals with their own little personalities already starting to shine through, so we also took individual photos for each of them as well.
Eventually sleepy eyes opened (and what gorgeous eyes they were) and we got some further photos before we said our goodbyes and the happy family made their way home. These precious early days, captured on film forever, are the reason that I started newborn photography.
I often look back at the photos of my own daughter, now an independent, energetic, pre-schooler, and am so thankful that I have those reminders of how tiny her fingers were, how plump her cheeks. I can practically smell her sweet newborn head every time I pass those photos on my landing. This gift is something I want to share with all parents, those precious early days of your child’s life, frozen in time. I offer sitting shoots from my studio in Earlsfield, but also travel between Wandsworth, Wimbledon and the greater South and South West London areas. Get in touch today to discuss your options, I’d love to work with you.
