It was only recently that I mentioned in a blog how the choice of outfits can add so much character and interest to a newborn photoshoot. Well, today I may have to eat my words. Will you just look at these beautiful images of mother and child? Classic, simple, stunning.
An understated beauty, Mum opted to keep the shoot minimal. Her effortless style choice of a chic white dress worked well in not detracting from the focus of the image.
Without a themed outfit or prop in sight (unless you count the adorable elephant blankie), this session was different from the type of newborn photography I do for the majority of my clients, but I think it made for some beautiful shots. The lack of contrasting colours means that they eye is drawn to the subjects of the image, as well as to the textures of the fabrics.
I don’t think there is anything sweeter in the world than a downy soft body of a newborn baby. Capturing that precious stage of life will make these images even more treasured in years to come. What a delight it will be looking back on these photos when baby has grown up and has a busy life all of his own.
I was incredibly happy with the final images, I think they’re timeless and effortlessly elegant. This style of natural newborn photography is definitely going to become a firm favourite, not just with me, but with new clients too.
