I have photographed thousands of families & individuals, and a common emotion some clients experience is shyness. Feeling shy is a natural emotion especially when faced with the camera. Shyness can affect anyone of any age. If you are reading this, you maybe feeling a little nervous about appearing in front of the camera but please don’t be. During your session, I will work with you to feel completely at ease and in some instances you won’t even know I am there.

Today, I will be sharing some tips on how to get comfortable and enjoy your photoshoot.

  1. Practice Having Your Photo Taken

To help you get use to being photographed, stand in front of a mirror and strike a few poses, get comfortable with your body and your smile.

  1. Positivity

Visualize the photoshoot going well. A positive mental mindset will allow you to enjoy the day. If you have any questions ahead of the photoshoot then please let me know.

  1. Decide On Your Outfit

Feeling comfortable starts with what you are wearing. Take the time to pick out an outfit that not only suits the purpose of the photo session but one that you feel completely comfortable in too. Wear a colour that you love and get your hair and makeup done to give you that extra boost of confidence. Props outfits are supplied during the newborn photoshoot and a selection of outfits are supplied during the maternity photoshoot, so don’t worry about buying blankets etc.

  1. Find Out What To Expect

Your photoshoot will either take place in my Earlsfield Studio, in your home or at an outdoor location. If your shoot is outdoors or at my studio then visit the location before to help you familiarize yourself with your surroundings. We can discuss your shoot at the time of booking so you know what to expect.

  1. Enjoy It.

Allow yourself to enjoy the session. Take a look at my previous photoshoots in the Gallery section. It’s a great way to get a feel of what to expect. I promise, many of my clients feel nervous ahead of a photoshoot, its natural. However, every client comes away from my sessions feeling happy and relaxed and you will too.
